Is CBS’ MacGyver the best escape room player ever?
E! Online wrote brief article highlighting that TV’s new MacGyver, Lucas Till, and the shows co-stars tried their hand at an escape room the night before the show’s premiere on CBS. They escaped the room and apparently enjoyed their first escape room experience. The story led us to ask one very important question….
If you could have one fictional character on your escape room team, who would it be?
They of course need to be creative, able to solve problem, see beyond the surface of things, and probably have a good sense of how to use technology. There’s so many to choose from. There’s no way we could come up with an exhaustive list, but here are some of the top names that came to mind.
Chuck Norris – a certified bad-ass, but not a problem solver at all. He’d just break stuff, and we’re NOT fans of that!
Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (X files) – they solved some pretty crazy stuff, and they could be really good at escape rooms. But it feels like they’re better at extra-terrestrial games, and we don’t have any of those so they’re out.
Perry Mason – incredible mind, always sees things no one else does, but he’s better in the courtroom than anything. Definitely want him on my team, but he’s not #1
Olivia Benson (Law & Order: SVU) – after 97 seasons on the air (ok, maybe not THAT many) clearly someone from Law & Order has to be considered and why not Olivia Benson. A great choice, but she didn’t top our list.
Scooby Doo – no one else has solved so many crimes with so little natural talent. Scooby is a master at making the most out of what he’s been given. He literally sniffs out clues everywhere, but ultimately, we don’t allow pets at Escape Tactic so he didn’t make the cut. (Note: if Scooby Doo ever shows up at our door, we’ll break the rules for a game just to watch him work his magic!)
So this could literally go on all day, and I know we’re forgetting hundreds of worthy candidates – including the original MacGyver who really should be at the top of nearly every list – but our choice was clear.
Jack Bauer – he’s saved the world a dozen times in a 24 hour period. No matter what happens he avoids death even when there’s no way he should. He knows which terrorist holds the key to solving the puzzle, and if we were playing SEAL Team, Jack would be the perfect leader. Plus, if he got stuck on a puzzle, he’d probably torture our Game Masters to get extra hits which seems like a fool-proof way to win! All that, plus Chloe can always upload the schematics to his phone.
Jack is a no-brainer choice if for no other reason than we loved 24!
